Corruption is a persistent problem that has far-reaching consequences for societies, economies, and governance systems. It has taken on new forms and dimensions, with the potential to undermine democratic institutions, erode public trust, and impede sustainable development. In this regard, parliaments play a crucial role through the adoption of laws and the public budget, as well as the oversight of Governments’ laws, policies, and the implementation of recommendations coming from the ratification of international treaties.

By empowering parliamentarians and related advisors on the challenges and opportunities coming from combatting corruption, concrete actions can be taken for building better societies free from corruption and grounded in the principles of democratic governance.
